My age is showing...

Takes a minute to download, but I think it's well worth it...

Damn you, Bargle!

Hey,

Here's all the swag I picked up at GenCon )

So yeah, quite the haul. I'll be giving my reviews on stuff as I get through them.

"There's not much of a market for games about cannibalism and concentration camps -- but I've got it!" -- Jarred Sorrensen

So today was a good day. Picked up a cheap overstock copy of GURPS Cabal and the new Powergamer Guide to Wizards. Got to watch Vincent do the happy dance of player trust and fulfillment. Got to watch Jarred and Luke Cage ask penetrating questions and piss off people. Got to play a short demo of Polaris...a game which will bear some serious testing once I get back home. Finally, got to run a wacky game of BARBAREN! with Ron Edwards and folks. I was pretty ineffectual, but at least I go to burn down my tribe's crops. So that was good.

Anyway, was a lot of fun. Still looking for a longer Burning Wheel game and a copy of the Morrow Porject Rulebook.

Also, Mikey? You have no more Buck Rodgers Sourcebook worries. :)

I may need to wash *four* times to get the geek off me.

Did you know that Avalon Hill published "The Witchcraft Kit" and the "Black Rituals Kit"? In those bookcase game formats that all their games came in?

Yeah, well they did.

No, I don't even want to know what it costs these days. Besides, it's Avalon Hill the rules for casting a circle are probably only a little more complicated than filling out a 1040.

p.s. Everyone who wanted an Order of the Stick book can cheer -- I got them one. No sketch (I got like four copies and the line for the books was around the block and Rich was already starting to tire), but they're all signed.

I'm a 6'6" guy wearing T-shirt and jean shorts.

Clearly, I've got tons of plastique strapped to my body.

I dunno, maybe I was the first rube of the day.

Anyway, they run the wand over me and it goes off at chest height.

"Do you have any..."
"Nipple piercing."
"ah, right then."

sheesh

Hi,

In one week, I (and about 40-bazillion other people) will be in Indianapolis for GenCon.

If there's anything that people want, speak up now. I'd prefer to be paid in advance, but if I like you, I might take it on credit. I'm only going to buy stuff that's "in print" at GenCon, so no asking me to slum through any used games area in search of stuff. And while there's an auction, there's no way in heck I'm searching that unless you pay your max bid in advance with a bit of a finder fee on top. That said, there's lots of great stuff out at GenCon (both new and not-so-new) and I'm willing to scoop up stuff for people.

I will be trying to get a copy of the new Order of the Stick: On the Origins of PCs book. I'm down for one, Jeff is down for one, and Wombat is down for one. You could be down for one too, if you ask, but there's only like, 1000 of these things at GenCon and I may not even get one (if my experience at Pandemonium is any indication, these puppies will go fast).

But yes, if there's really something you want to get from GenCon, let me know.

Also, if you read my LJ and you're going to GenCon, let me know -- I'm looking forward to seeing lots of friends new and old there.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] bryant, please give me a ping just to make sure you got my Information Recap email.

Hey,

This is just a general question for people who've been to GenCon before...

So...event registration closed last week? Man, this con is completely messed up.

I wouldn't care so much because most of the events made me go "meh", but then a really slick one caught my eye and I went "oooh! I'd like to be in that!", but now I can't register for it. It's one of the all-day workshops too so I dunno if a "generic ticket" will cover it. But now, can you even buy a "generic ticket" at the door?

So my question is: am I screwed?

Stupid, stupid GenCon
