Hey,

Next year, in 2020, I'm planning on running a short Cyberpunk 2020 campaign because...why not. Now, comparing the game world to our real one, it would seem like we've got all the dark, corporate dystopia with none of the cool toys.

Well...here's a brand new way to get a bit closer to cyberpsychosis -- and infrared vision.

Hey,

It's a big step up from prepositions:

Hey,

For those of you who like SCIENCE! or Atomic Robo (and really that Venn diagram is a single circle): you might be interested in this kickstarter.

Also...I *really* want to see something like this for Venture Bros.

Hey,

So I just thought of a great new experiment (that will get me thousands of views on YouTube by science-minded netizens):

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you:

Focat's Pendulum!

I envision a long pendulum with a ball-shaped metal cage at the bottom. Inside are one or more cats along with food/water dispensers. The ball is set in motion and a "kicker" keeps it going.

In the original version of this experiment, the Earth rotates beneath the pendulum and the arc slowly describes a circle over 24-hours. With one or more cats inside the ball, the weight will shift in subtle ways causing a more erratic pattern which will be of great interest to the scientific mind.

I'll probably follow this up with the Mk. II Focault Pendulum where I find a guy named Focault, truss him up and swing him. Again, I expect an erratic and illuminating pattern to evolve.

FOR SCIENCE!

An informal LJ poll (since I'm too cheap to buy real polls):

Ladies, are you more into:

1.) Wizards?
2.) Sorcerers?

And now, one for the guys.

Fellas, are you more into:

1.) Clerics
2.) Druids

And finally, for people who oppose the duality.

Sentient being, are you more into:

1.) Thieves
2.) Rangers

Thank you for your participation

Hey,

So my friend Derek would've loved this video. If you knew Derek you'll know why. Otherwise, it's still a lot of fun and you might like it too:

Hey,

So...I am very upset that a.) I didn't think of this and b.) someone got money for it. Probably the best use of technology I've seen in ages and something that needs to be replicated here:

It's A Fact(TM):

The guitar lick from Steve Wonder's song Superstition precisely matches the resonant frequency of the human ass.

Hi,

Math and doodle games:

Her channel has a few others including a video about doodling infinite camels (also, Sierpinski's Elephants).

Hi,

IO9.com has a lengthy and fascinating excerpt from Cordelia Fine's new book Delusions of Gender. A book where she reviews the popular literature about the differences between the brains of men and women and finds that what gets written doesn't tend to square up much with the studies they cite.

It seems relevant to the interests of some of my readers.
