Rage against the dying of the light

Hi,

I spent the entire day in my PJs. Even when I briefly stepped out this evening to pick up my order of Indian food for supper (although I did, in fact, put some layers over that).

I suppose it counts as a kind of successful day. At any rate, I helped delay the heat death of the universe by a little bit whilst reading about the heat death of the universe.

Yesterday palmwiz and I took down the Christmas lights. While this is kind of sad because it means no more ridiculous light display—well, I mean, the 30' rainbow flag is still up of course, but the palm trees, cactus, and frog on a surf-board are all stowed away for the next year—it could also be heartening, as we only take then down after we've gained about a half hour of light back into the evening. It's clearly a sign that the days are getting just a little bit longer. :)

Oh, I've got something that gets a little bit longer based on the interaction between Earth's orbit and its axial tilt...
