Hi,
So I just finshed reading Little, Big by John Crowley. This is one of those books that my more widely-read friends have gone, "You haven't read it? OMG it's fantastic you should read it!". Much like Foucault's Pendulum. What can I say? There are a lot of books out there.
Anyway. Little, Big.
This is a fantastic book. You should read it. But you should also read it when you think "now is the time to read it" because otherwise it won't quite be the right time to read it and you'll miss out. But when you think it's time to read it, it is and it'll be great. It's partially about a large, extended family and their rambling, otherworldly house, it's partially about spirits and fairies and magic, it's partly about New York and America, it's mostly about something else entirely. Just pick it up, turn it over a few times and when you think, "maybe now I should read it", you should. And you'll be happy you did.
