For One Year and One Day

So yeah, Friday was my birthday and had a pretty good time at the Drum and Dance in Amherst. Got to see lots of friends and stuff.
But the best present I got for my birthday happened on Saturday.
Today marks the one-year, first-date, anniversary between![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
asciikitty and I. It's been a really good year. The two of us have gotten very close to one another and our relationship is honest and open and deliriously low in drama.
In early August, I asked if she'd like to get handfasted for a year and a day. She said yes (actually, she said "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee" for awhile, but that counts as yes).
So yesterday we got handfasted in a short, sweet ceremony. Today, I'm sporting a blue friendship bracelet on my wrist made from the cord we tied the knot over. And it's going to stay there until this time next year or it falls off (and short of it bursting into flame, I'm not taking any disruption of the cord as a karmic signal).
So uh...yeah, I'm committed to this woman for the next year and I couldn't be happier about it.
