Help a white boy out

Is it "Merry Passover", "Happy Passover", "Bloody Door-Post Passover" or what? It's not as clear-cut a celebration in my head as other things are.

Happy Passover works just fine. It's a time of celebrating our freedom, tinged with a bit of sadness at the loss of the entire Egyptian army of the time. Also, since I know you're the giving type, we no longer use actual lamb shanks to celebrate, since we no longer give offerings of lamb. Please don't be coming over and applying a little blood to anyone's door.

Uh...are blood puddings kosher for this?

And, you're getting lamb no matter what because my freezer isn't big enough.

Second the vote for "happy." Or if you're feeling multi-lingual, chag same-ach, where "ch" is that fun 'clearing your throat' sound like the German "ach." And *post* holiday gifts of cookies are nice, since we don't get to eat them *during* the holiday. :)

I agree that people often say "happy;" I personally usually say "I hope you have a wonderful holiday," which covers you in case the person turns out not to be Jewish.

In this specific case, I knew it was Passover, I just wondered what the right phrasing would be.
