So I blew through a couple more volumes of the foodie manga Oishinbo. This time it was Ramen and Gyoza and Fish and Sashimi.
I get a kick out of reading these things. Sure it makes me hungry for Japanese food, but it also makes me hungry for food in general and pushes me to appreciate more about what I'm eating. As usual, the stories are pretty thin. In fact, the original manga ran for a number of years and these collections don't follow the chronology, they just block things together according to food category. So in one story, the protagonists are just partners, in the next they're engaged and in another they're about to have twins. So it jumps all over the place. I'm hoping the last volume in the series actually handles some ending plot stuff.
Anyway, a fun set to read.
