Hi,

Here's my new, sure-fire, money-making scheme:

I'm going to take a great work of music, say Bach's Fugue in C Major. I'll then separate out the notes according to tone and beat (so all the C whole note, all the C half notes, all the C quarter notes and so on, through all the notes and down to the smallest interval. Rests will likewise be pulled out and organized by length.

Then I'll place all the rests in length order (longest rest to shortest) and then all the notes (from lowest to highest and longest to shortest within each note). So there will be silence and then a rising tone.

I'll do this for several such pieces of music, put it all on a CD and sell it.

I shall call it: Classical De-compositions.

I'll also sell a supplementary music book -- "Play the greatest music in history with almost no effort or training!"

later
Tom

I think there was an Iain Banks novel in which an invading culutre promised not to change one dot of the locals' art, nor alter one word of the locals' literature.

So they alphabetized all the literature by word, sorted all the pixels of the art by color, and destroyed the originals.

That's Use of Weapons, I think. (And it's by Iain M. Banks, but I only point this out 'cos I'm a nerd.)  :-)
