Hey,

So I'm interested in seeing In Bruges which opens this Friday at the Kendall Sq. Theatre (and possibly some other spots).

The basic summary: After a London assassination job gone wrong, Irish hit men Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are ordered to the quaint Flemish town of Bruges to hide out until the heat dies down. Things go wrong from there.

It's gotten some pretty nice reviews and I'd like to see it on Saturday night. If you're interested in seeing it with me, drop me a line/leave a comment.

SAW* is the very definition of torture porn. Other films include the Texas Chainsaw massacre remake, the upcoming The Poughkeepsie Tapes, the Hostel movies... there are a few more, but those jump right out at me.

He was specifically asked about World War Z, and in general he thinks that zombie stuff isn't good unless there's an element of humor and fun snuck in there. His mindset in particular is EC comics oriented (he loved them as a kid), where there are bad puns and crazy funny things happening every so often. He didn't like World War Z because he thinks it had too much of a "straight face" to it.

No one specifically asked about that film... but if it's any indication, Simon Pegg has a voiceover as one of the newscasters in Diary of the Dead. As do Tom Savini, Guillermo del Toro, and a few other friends. I suspect George enjoyed SotD.
