TotallyRadio.com is a great internet radio station. Too bad it's in the UK so when I hear cool music, I gotta pay through the nose to get the import.

Still...I did snag a couple of CDs based off of stuff I heard there. So what'd I get?

Paging Mr. Strike by Machine Gun Fellatio. This is an Australian band. And as the name might suggest, they've got some rather raunchy songs. It's not quite on the level of Butt Trumpet, but gets there. Far and away, the best song on the album is Rollercoaster. It's catchy as hell. Close on it's heels is Dirty F#!@ing Whore and Pussy Town. Beyond that, it's rather a mixed bag. But it'll probably grow on me with time. It's like that for most new CDs. The CD also has music videos and stuff on it, which I've been afraid to play for fear of getting fired. But the reviews suggest that the real payoff for this group is the live show. Just another reason to go to Australia I guess.

Music for the Mature B-Boy, by DJ Format. I'm not really into rap or hip-hop very much. But this stuff...really good. They've got Charlie Tuna from Jurassic 5 (another group I really like). The real gems are when DJ Format teams up with Abdominal, a rapper from the mean, socialist streets of Toronto. His lyrics are quick and intricate like this verbal sculpture. Very nice.

Worth the price of import? Well, Mature B-Boy definately. Paging Mr. Strike is less so, but I've made worse CD purchases in my life.
