Hey,

So yesterday I cracked the top of my skull on a low-hanging concrete support beam in the office complex where I work. Nearly concussed myself. Anyway, it really hurts today (memo to self: head tattoos will *not* be a happy).

But apparently it jostled my crown shakra because not only was I dreaming something fierce last night, I actually had a few moments of lucid dreaming which are really rare for me, and after I willed my coat back into existence (I was looking for it), I started flying...well, floating to low altitude might best describe it. It was pretty fun before my subconscious distracted me and took control again.

Also, am totally having a blast with [livejournal.com profile] spiritseeker's Tomb Raiders in Space game. I'm the nutty professor with a piece of precursor tech jammed into his head. It helps that my sidekick is [livejournal.com profile] gentlesamurai. We make the Captain cry.

Hi,

So I'd been recommended the "Master Li and Number Ten Ox" books by Barry Hughart, but they're kidna hard to come by. Not out of print, just not really in print. Anyway, I was pleased to discover that [livejournal.com profile] drwex had a copy of Bridge of Birds, the first book in the series and further, that he was willing to let me read it.

He predicted it would be a fast, breezy read and he was quite correct. It was also an utterly charming book concerning the adventures of an ancient sage and simple peasant and I'm pleased to see that my reading material is trending upward. Highly recommended, although now the desire to play Weapons of the Gods is that much stronger.
