...the Greeks really hated happy endings. No one can just die peacefully of old age surrounded by friends and loved ones. Nope, everyone has a terrible fate that will usually twist the knife with irony and they'll die in a horrible, messy way.
OK, a few people get put up as constellations, but that's usually because some deity took pity on their horrible fate and decided to give them a little afterlife perk, but really...
