...but I gotta say, the best part about the Fall is the fact that Honeycrisp apples come into season.

In case you missed it -- Honeycrisp Apples are the Platonic Ideal of an apple. Yes, they cost like $4/lb. and theres about 2-3 apples per pound, but don't skimp. Go down to Whole Foods, get one and then go eat it. First bite you'll think "It's pure apple bliss!".

That it is, my friend, that it is.

I'ma macoun person myself. I find the honecrisps too sweet. I like my apples kind of sour. However the macouns are best after the first frost or two.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I was looking for them too early in the season.

Best apple pie I ever made was with HoneyCrisp apples.

I had my first honeycrisp ever last fall, and haven't been able to lay my hands on one since. Good to know they're back.

I also like Ginger Golds, which I just had for the first time this year.

Just an FYI, Verrill Farm in Concord has Honeycrisp apples. They were on the last order form I got from them at the restaurant. Don't know how much but they have to be cheaper than Whole Foods and they are definitely local.

I just picked up some honeycrisps at the farmer's market in Arlington this evening. yum!
