Away Balast!

Hey,

Time for another book review. I just got finished with All Star Zeppelin Adventure Stories by David Moles (Editor), Jay Lake (Editor).

All right, let's take it as a given that if it involves Zeppelins in any meaningful way the book will probably score pretty high with me regardless. But even if you take my obvious bias into account, the collection of stories in this book is pretty darn good. Nothing is really terrible and in an anthology title, I consider that to be worth extra points all on it's own.

I'd say the best stories in the book include:

"Voice of the Hurricane" by Paul Berger
"Instead of a Loving Heart" by Jeremiah Tolbert
"This is the Highest Step in the Wold" by Carrie Vaughn
"Sky Light" by David Brin
"Love in the Balance" by David Levine

But really, pretty much everything in the book is worth reading. The few I didn't find so interesting were over and done with so fast I hardly had time to form a disapproving opinion.

All in all, a very tasty read and highly recommended.

I have a similar bias for anything involving Giant Squid, so I completely understand....

may still go read this book though.
