Hi,

More notes from the game.

Dream with warden. Starts on slab and Metatron pulls him out and puts him on the throne. Stands behind him and questions him about building the psychic antenna. Expressing grave concern, eventually Metatron puts him back on the slab and leaves him.

Ponch has a bit of an argument with Lance about the antenna.

Warden and Tai discuss the antenna and discuss building a device to block Skel's powers. Warden sets some priorities.

Warden goes to see Skel (who's on the slab poking at herself). They have a discussion about power and trust and safety and the antenna and the Warden chooses to optimistically interpret her answers.

At Stand-up

There's a general strike in Prosperity. No one wants to help out with the Arsenal of Democracy program because they all fear the antenna. The Warden decides to make a trip down to Prosperity and give a big speach.

Warden and Tai clash over an over-ambitious workload.

Ponch goes down to see Vega and reassure her that things are OK (and to make sure that the weapons project is still on schedule). Ponch finds that Vega is in her factory and while her workforce isn't at full strength most of her people are still working for her.

Vega is also deeply concerned about the antenna, but she wants to keep the pirates off her back. She's got most of her people working but without the strikers back on the job there won't be much of a floatilla to repel the pirates. Ponch repeats many of his earlier arguments and manages to foist off Vega for the moment.

Warden has a long chat with Monk. He wants to know who's been stirring up the people and organizing the strike. After a bit of a heated exchange, he gets Monk to help set up the big speech while he goes off to talk to Welcome. Welcome, like pretty much everyone else, is not a fan of the antenna and isn't trusting of Skel on general principle, but doesn't seem to be a driving force behind the strike (his followers aren't really helping out but they weren't helping out to begin with).

Big Speech time. The Warden lays out his general plans to fight the pirate menace and declares the antenna is just a back up. He promises not to build the antenna if everyone gets back to work on the shipbuilding project. This seems to mollify the crowd and work resumes.

The Warden, of course, summons his ring and tries to figure out how to build the antenna on the sly. Best suggestion is to break it down and drive it out in trailers to set up in a remote location.

The Warden also wants to see how the floatilla is coming along. Ponch grabs Sky Boy and Bruce and takes them down to Vega's where the first boat, a light two-man job is waiting. They haul it down to the edge of the ocean. Sky Boy and Bruce take it out for a spin while Ponch supervises.

They run the boat in a wide circle along the coast. The boat handles pretty well, but running deeper into the ocean, the two encounter a pair of pirate vessels and rush back to where Ponch is waiting on the beach. Sky Boy slews up the boat so Bruce can bring the machine gun to bear and Ponch takes cover. The pirates approach under a flag of parley. One of them comes up to Ponch and hands him a sealed case. Message delivered, they take off.

Ponch looks at the contents. The pirates are demanding a large shipment of alcohol/fuel and 25 men and 25 women of young adult age. Freedom has a week to comply.

While Ponch is at the regatta, Tai is showing the water filtration crew how to work the new equipment she's built. A covered wagon shows up. Doc is riding between two bodyguards. Tai (who hasn't really met Doc before) and Doc have a wonderful conversation about Tai's work. Doc suggests some useful future improvements. Doc is headed to Freedom and Tai is happy to escort him in. They leave the cart in Prosperity and Doc, Jake and Tai walk up to the door.

Meanwhile, Skel is very much aware of Doc's presence approaching and tells the Warden who meets the group at the door. Warden orders Tai to her room and tells Doc to get lost. Doc promptly turns around and walks off. The Warden escorts them back to Prosperity and sees them off. Welcome turns up and expresses his disapproval of Doc and in this, at least, they have common ground.

Around this time, Ponch shows up with the message and they go over all the implications and what has to happen. The furtively-built antenna idea gains prominence.

Skel and Tai detect Doc's presence. He's making a lot of psychic noise and he seems to be at the water filtration plant. The crew race off to the plant. They find Doc standing there with the crew of the water plant arranged around him, rapturous looks on their faces. He gives a big smile and all the employees slit their throats.

Both Warden and Ponch pull out their guns, but Ponch suddenly becomes aware he doesn’t know where the bodyguards are and flinches. Warden takes his shiny new sniper rifle and blows off Doc’s head.

Skel tries to open her mind and blows the roll, falling unconscious.

A search shows that Doc’s wagon headed off to the river. Ponch and Warden race after them. The tracks end at the river but the two of them surmise that it was loaded on a barge and sent back up the river. Back at the plant, Tai watches over Skel and reviews the plant. It looks fine, but finding and training the right people is going to be a job.

The Warden is quite pissed and considers taking his flotilla up the river to wipe out Kayquodek once and for all.

So lots of problems for Scooby and the Gang to hash out. We're trying to get a read on how long it will be until the next GM is ready to run so that will determine how to run the pacing. There's also the holidays coming on so be might not be regular again until after the New Year (yes, yes, there's nothing regular about me at all I hear you cry).

Oh I'VE got something regular...
Tom
