Hey,

So tonight I dropped in to catch a showing of The Muppets. As usual, the worst part about children's movies is all the children in the audience. I kid, they were as good as gold. Here are my fast notes:

1.) Dear Pixar, if you're not going to make any more Toy Story movies, stop making the five minute shorts that desperately make me want to see a new movie. I cared more about the throw-away characters in this thing than I do in most films I see.

2.) The Muppet movie was oddly human-centric for a Muppet movie. The movie isn't about the problems humans have, it's about the problems Muppets have...usually caused by humans.

3.) The songs were pretty forgettable. I was figuring they'd have to do "Just One Person", but nope.

4.) The movie really makes me want to see new episodes of the Muppet Show. Just do that, guys. Variety shows are due for a comeback.

5.) God I miss Jim Henson.

Overall, it's really a movie that plays to its nostalgic fan base, so it wins there. It's well put-together and aside from my nit-picks it's not a bad movie, it just has really big shoes to fill.

p.s. I totally want that button Gonzo has. You'll know it when you see it.
