On another note: I remember as a kid being impressed as hell that the DC people had taken the trouble to concoct a plausible scientific explanation for Superman's powers (i.e. he got them from the yellow sun) whereas they could have just taken the cheap way out and offered no explanation at all. I also remember explaining to my mother how classy this was of them, but I'm not sure she got the point.
