The Review of an Era

Hey,

So some time ago, I picked up a copy of Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. A hefty book that kicked off a fantasy series known as The Malazan Book of the Fallen.

8 years.
10 books.
10,000 pages
3.5 million words.

I'm done.

Last night I finished The Crippled God. The 10th and final book.

I can't talk to you about this book. Nothing I say would make any sense unless you'd read what came before.

All I can say is this: The series had it's ups and downs, but even at it's worst, the writing was still above average. It's a series that encompasses people of all shapes, sizes, genders, races, orientations and gives all of them a chance to be heroes and villains. It's a series that is already tempting me to re-read the whole thing.

In short, I think it's worth it.

bryant, michele_blue you guys are still reading this right? When you finish, we totally need to talk about this book.
