Has Superman ever fought a Green Lantern. I suspect with the recent Darkest Night/Brightest Day thing he's fought some number of ring bearers. It's unclear to me if Superman beats GL. The rings are pretty strong (if not as durable). If Superman can beat the GL on a consistent basis, then it seems like the Guardians should've come up with a better solution for "galactic policeman". Perhaps clone a bunch of Kryptonians.
But I had this idea, where it's revealed that the Green Lantern batteries require Kryptonite in order to function and that, in fact, the Guardians had caused the destruction of Krypton because they were essentially strip mining for resources. Sure a whole planet of people against a universe of sentients? The Guardian's math is on an exponentially different scale.
