Hi,

It's been a year since I've been in any sort of regular game. I miss it and I really want to get back into the swing of things. So I'm on the hunt for a gaming group. Either to run a game or to participate.

Games I'd be willing to run:

(Note: All these games would be around 12 sessions so 4-6 months depending on frequency of game)

Nobilis: I'm trying to sell a couple people on this right now. Nobilis is the game where you control a slice of reality and protect it from slices of reality opposed to you and beings from beyond creation who want to nullify everything. I dug up some new supplementary material by the author and that got me excited about running it again. Further, she's finished up the third edition of the game and might be looking for playtesters, so a chance to get in on that is pretty exciting. I'm hoping to play with people who really want to delve into their sections of reality and play up the Noble society angle. So lots of action in Chancels (yours and others), quests on the World Ash and one strong B-line plot for Earth (subject to the whims of the players of course).

Houses of the Blooded: Aristocratic elves being complete jerks to one another. Love, Lust, Lies and Vengeance liberally sprinkled with Blood. The game would cover a year in the life of the PCs as they struggle to rise to the top before their passions get the best of them. I've had some really great convention games with this and would love to do a long-form game.

OD&D (red box) -- The old-school bug has bitten me. I'd like to do Basic D&D where you Elf like it's your job...because it is! Big dungeons, classic modules, and a retro-game played by people who aren't teenagers anymore and have a better idea about how these games can be played to their fullest.

4th ed. Dark Sun D&D -- This isn't actually out until August, but I think Dark Sun in 4th ed. will be pretty rockin' and I'd like to give it a shot. Although I really want to play this more than run it which leads us to...

Games I'd love to participate in:

Any of the above: Hey, if you're running any of those things and need a new player, get in touch with me.

D&D 4th ed.: If you're not playing old school are you playing new school? At this point 2nd and 3rd ed. really don't do it for me. Which isn't to say that 4th ed. doesn't have it's own share of problems, but it's a game I'm willing to buy into.

Sci-Fi game: It's been awhile. My current favorites in this category are Diaspora, Traveller and Heavy Gear, but I'm down for pretty much anything.

Trail of Cthulhu or other GUMSHOE game: I love Call of Cthulhu, but Trail (and the other GUMSHOE games) are just made for the investigative genre and it's what I'd really like to get into.

But honestly, if you've got a space in a game that isn't mentioned, feel free to pitch it to me.

For the record -- I'm kind of a smartass. If your game is really serious, we won't be a good fit. I can do serious in short bursts (and actually I'm pretty decent in Cthulhu games), but it's not something I can keep up for ages. So I'm probably terrible for most White Wolf games with the exception of Exalted.

Anyway, if any of the above interests you, let me know.

Thanks
Tom

Further, she's finished up the third edition of the game

...I note that the 3rd edition will be only the 4th book ever published for Nobilis . . .

So, you seem to be thinking of a weekly or biweekly game?

Alas, I couldn't make that sort of time committment.

Where is your locality these days?

Funny, I thought you'd put The Dresden Files RPG in there... but since it's only just been released (still anxiously awaiting my pre-order to be delivered), you probably haven't seen it as yet.

I'd play Nobilis or 4E. I'm sort of busy, but have some days that I can commit to.

I've been trying to get a Scion game off the ground for a while, and that is definitely open to snarky. My latest iteration was going to be a monthly game (since week nights barely let people get into character) set in the 20's. Here is the wiki I started for it: http://scions-of-new-york.wikispaces.com/.

I'm open to ideas for Scion though, especially if I can get some excited players. I tend to feed off ideas from my players (or other source, I had another campaign that each adventure was based off a song).

I want to play in a game with smartasses. The GM of my current group takes things too seriously for my taste. The more I play with him, the more I long for TFOS.

Consider me intrigued/interested. I haven't done a weekly (or bi weekly) game in forever, and it might be nice to get back into the swing of things.
