Hey,

Who would win in a fight: Snoopy vs. Dogbert?

First off, the correct answer, as always, is Batman.

Having said that, I would be inclined to back Snoopy over Dogbert. Dogbert is pretty clever and manipulative, but that's only because his opponents to date have pretty much all been humans (or other animals shown to be as dumb as humans such as Ratbert or Bob the Dinosaur). Snoopy may think he's people, but he consistently acts in a way that other humans can never really anticipate or explain. No matter how serious he is in his endeavors, he's also willing to throw it all away on something frivolous. Dogbert's usual bag of dirty tricks have nothing to get a grip on. Indeed, Snoopy is likely to play with the very concept of a fight rendering any victories Pyrrhic at best.

If Dogbert has any advantage it's that he's likely to resort to physical violence whilst Snoopy tends to shy from conflict (outside of WWI aerial dogfights...which he's really awful at).

But I welcome thoughts from the peanut gallery.

My first thought was also Snoopy. Dogbert is a lot of talk, and seems good at getting people to do things or put them down, but Snoopy doesn't bother with the mental games. He does his thing, which may or may not make sense, which can be bewildering to his opponents. I think theirs would be a battle of attrition, and therefore Snoopy would win because he's pretty content with life and his role in it. Dogbert would eventually throw up his hands in defeat and wander back to an office setting.

I think Snoopy wins for the same reason that Bugs Bunny wins versus, er, well, anyone. The universe bends to their whim.

Dogbert is clever, but compared to Snoopy, he's bounded by reality.

I think Dogbert might win for the simple fact that Snoopy doesn't seem to have a malicious bone in his cartoon body.

I'm going to have to agree with Snoopy. In the worst case, he has plenty of experience with survival behind enemy lines which would serve him well if a confrontation with Dogbert got too physical.
