I collect comic books and I've developed a rather unusual problem regarding them. The problem being that series I really enjoy either get canceled, abruptly end or just trail off into the ether never to be seen again.
Today's latest victim: Ruse. It's this Fantasy Victorian Sherlock Holmes kinda thing. I liked it a lot. It's way finished. It's been over for awhile, but I only just read the last issue today.
On the upside, I always have a complete story and the total number of comics I subscribe to remains low. On the downside. Crap!
I should just bite the bullet and switch to only buying trade paperbacks. Poison Elves looks interesting and I only just got into Promethea. On the other hand, a lot of the stuff I really liked will never make it to a trade format. On the whole, though, I've really given up on a lot of comic books. I should slum around and try to find some interesting stuff again. Maybe it actually helps that the stories come to some sort of conclusion rather than rambling about for ages.
But that's no excuse for the MIA status of Leave It to Chance. That series isn't over and it's way too good to languish.
