I like to ride my bicycle...

Hey,
So last month I bought a new bicycle. I've mostly been using it to run small errands and the like.
On Saturday my mother-in-law (who's biked across the country) invited me to go riding on the Nashua River Rail Trail, which runs from Ayer north into Nashua NH, a distance of 11-odd miles one way.
It's a really wonderful bike trail and I highly recommend it. The trail is pretty much flat the entire length. There's lots of good shade and interesting open vistas. It stays away from lots of development, but does pass some interesting spots, including downtown Pepperell, MA (stop in for ice cream!).
It took us about two hours to make the round trip. I should here point out that 22-odd miles is the most I've ever biked in one sitting. My knees were hurting by the end of it, but frankly, I felt pretty good at the end. I really wanted something to eat and a nice hard cider, but it was a fun trip. Oh, and I need to jack the handlebars up on my bike, my hands were a little sore.
I would definitely go again and I recommend it to my biking friends (also, apparently, my equestrian friends -- the trail is open to horses for a good stretch of its length.
