Thanks for the write-up. I'm not likely to scrap my current game in favor of new, but I'm more interested in being a player in some 4th ed something.
That said, one of the biggest problems I have with my (3/3.5) D&D is that it takes a lot of work to set up and play a group. A couple weeks back the PCs did a hit-and-run ambush on a drow caravan. With 20 mooks (level 1 duergar), 3 mid-level types (drider) and 3 real opponents (drow with class levels) it took a LONG time to set up. Running all of that also was a bit of a strain on me.
it's a shame, really, because the plot I have in mind calls for the party to hit the fantasy world equivalent of a terrorist training camp and that's a LOT of NPCs to set up and mess about with.
