Hi,

So, I just wanted to mention that NextWave is the best super-hero comic going (certainly it's the best Marvel comic going right now). And why do I say that?

Because the cover of the latest issue is a thing of beauty:

no, really, check it out )

For those that don't care, Civil War is the latest "giant-mega-crossover Xtreme event" stupid thing that Marvel is doing. The basic premise is that Iron Man says "let's register all the super heroes" and Captain America says "screw that" and everyone else picks sides and dukes it out.

Aside from the fact that it makes Iron Man out to be the government stooge (and I just don't see millionaire playboy Tony Stark thinking that government interference is a good idea), it's mostly annoying because it's an "event" and it sucks in every single stinking title and every single character that Marvel has (including Howard the Duck -- HOWARD THE DUCK, people!) and gloms it all together in this huge narrative mess that will quickly get swept under the rug once it's played out.

Actually, I take that back, White Tiger isn't involved, but mainly because the 6-issue miniseries explicitly takes place before the events of Civil War.

But Nextwave pretty much kicks this nonsense to the curb. And huzzah for them.

Also -- this issue -- Attack of the Evil Stephen Hawking Super-Clones!

I weep that the next issue is the last
