Short Update
Nov. 12th, 2003 09:46 amI passed the halfway mark on the book last night. I'm not halfway through the plot (thanks to my horrible math skills) but I am on track to beat the 50,000 word goal. As such, it's kind of a technical half-way point. I really need to finish the book rather than just meet an arbitrary word goal and quit or I don't think I can call myself done. I tend to start a lot of projects and never finish them up so this only makes sense to me if I actually finish the thing.
Mr. Brezsny has a few interesting words:
Virgo Horoscope for week of November 13, 2003
My reading of your astrological omens suggests that you are now standing before three doors. The word "scapegoat" is written on door number one. "Chameleon" is on door two and "weaver" on door three. What you do in the next six days will determine whether you'll ultimately have a choice about which door you open. If you do succeed in winning that privilege, I advise you to pick the "weaver" door sometime after November 22. Selecting the "chameleon" door wouldn't be terrible, but it wouldn't be half as stimulating.
Six days? Sheesh! Well, let's see...I'm writing the book. I've got a retreat out in Western Mass, a drumming workshop, and a dinner party on Sunday and...that's about it. Oh, work. I know damn well I want to pick that weaver door. Here's to hoping I'm already doing everything I need to do.
