We're Knights of the Broken Table...

Hrm...

So I had a dream last night where there were these Orcs who had started up a mock version of the Knights of the Round Table because they thought it was stupid so they made up their own knightly order.

But then, centuries later, the thing had gone from a lame joke to a deadly serious reality. The orcs really did have an order of knighthood and although it embodied orcish ideals, it was a real organization and a real threat.

Then, centuries after that, the orcish knights dwindled away and were the laughingstock of the orc lands because they were so stodgy and dumb.

Might be a fun thing to develop sometime...

I read a book once that was sort of like that...I didn't even read the whole thing, I don't think...but it had something to do with a tribe of folk who had dragons for pets, or cars, or something...and they were cool once, and then...uncool...and then the tides were turning to re-cool-ify them...
