Hi,

You'll recall that we'd been teleported to a small town in Bastion that was under zombie assault and that we were now setting off to raid this warehouse where some cursed artifact of Orcus was being used by cultists to power the zombies.

We make it to the warehouse and slip in a side door without too much trouble. The trouble was all inside. In the center was a cultist standing over the sarcophagus. This was in the center of some evil magic circle that was delineated largely by the children strapped down to the floor and wailing in fright.

So we waded into the fight.

Then the zombies showed up.

Then the deathlocks showed up.

Then the ghouls came charging down the stairs.

So, between being immobilized and stunned or stunned and immobilized, I really didn't do much of anything the entire fight. Oh, I nearly died 3 times, but Alanna was right on hand (not necessarily because she wanted to), so she kept me on my feet enough for the ghouls to take another big bite out of me.

In the end, it was the others (Taras, Ander, Thrace, Blaze and...in a surprise appearance So) who did most of the grunt work. Apparently Capricious snatched them up from the Dwarven tunnel and dumped them here. By the time I was able to see more than a tunnel of light, it was all over.

There were losses. Several of the children were sacrificed by the cultist before we could rescue them. More unfortunately, (from a group effectiveness standpoint) Blaze had fallen under the dreadful assault of the ghouls and the wights. She'd been caught on her own and no one had been able to get to her in time.

Of a more pressing concern was the sarcophagus. There was very clearly something inside trying to get out. At the point Capricious appears out of nowhere and traps the sarcophagus and its contents in a magic book. So, hooray for well-timed aid I guess.

He waves his hands and now we're back in the Dwarven tunnel facing down a howling swarm of undead. Screw this. I'm going to go back and wait in Brawl.

NOTES: It was a pretty brutal fight and Adjo spent most of it just trying to lift the various conditions affecting him. Adjo doesn't have a lot of specific power against the undead. Also, the wizard's biggest problem is that they don't have a lot of "hit them hard" spells. If there aren't any minions to sweep from the board, it takes forever for a wizard's spells to make a real difference. Finally, any magic item that improves or offers additional saving throws are worth 2-3 other magic items. Save conditions are pretty debilitating especially with monster combos where one set inflicts statuses and the other gets bonuses for attacking people in that status. Being able to keep those conditions down is important.
