I have this really amusing image of Hugh Laurie crawling around in the attic.

Nah, dude. Hugh Laurie would sorta casually glance over at it while walking by and then say:

"Riddled with termites, sub-standard wiring, ancient furnace ready to explode, built on sacred Indian burial grounds and 45 people were murdered there and their remains are scattered about the yard and between the walls."

"But it looks fantastic!"

"Yeah, lead paint looks really great doesn't it?"

"This is all crazy talk! I'm just going to ignore you even though week after week you constantly give a correct diagnosis to every place we've ever seen."

Friend of ours who got us into this house-hunting deal in the first place. She's an experienced realator and ours couldn't be with us today so she stood in.

Excellent. Always good to have an informed and friendly outsider's opinion to help out. When we had some issues with our realtor we got a similar kind of input from the mother of one of our kids' classmates whom Michelle had met at school parent functions.
