Hi,

So last year I didn't play in any regular RPG sessions.

It sucked.

So this year, I'm running something. Possibly a couple of somethings (in serial not parallel). I'm planning on doing short 12-episode games running 3-6 months (depending on frequency).

The first thing I'm running is Apocalypse World. Here's my teaser:

mauritania1

They say that man was cruel to the land and sea and finally the land and sea rose up and destroyed man. But the Land and Sea were enemies of old and once their tormentor was overthrown, they fell to fighting each other. Here on the flats the final battle was fought and an uneasy truce was reached. Land and sea retreated leaving behind the wrecks.

Here among the wrecks you've found a living. They shelter you and provide you with salvage and you can forage the flats for meat. Life is still hard. Very hard. There are corsairs from the sea, monsters from the jungle and the ghosts of the city. Sometimes the truce wavers and terrible storms rip through the flats.

Yeah, it's a hard life, but you and your crew are harder. You're a collection of flashy, crafty, dangerous fuckers who take no shit from anyone but happily dish it out. You've got plans that stretch beyond your next meal and the power to make something from nothing.

* * *

I'm running a game of Apocalypse World -- post-apocalyptic role-playing that's 8 parts Mad Max, 1 part Tank Girl, 1 part Gamma World and all badass. I'm looking for 3-6 players and a 12-session run (so a 3-6 month time frame depending on how frequently we meet).

I'm also envisioning a mini-Lexicon game to help flesh out the world and I'd also like to experiment with recording game sessions. If you're at all interested, drop me a line.

Come scoop my driveway!

Cripes. It took me 3.5 hours to clear my driveway out today.

Once more, Thorn the Unencumbered by the Lessons of the Past demanded to go outside. About 10 minutes later I saw her leaping like a dolphin through the drifts of snow (sinking down below sight on each landing). Soon she was at the door expressing the winter of her discontent -- someday she'll catch on. Ash -- who is pretty much better suited to the outdoors in every way watched impassively from the window.

After that, I ordered way too much Chinese food -- Red Ginger, a new place in Stow Shaw's Plaza. It was a little underwhelming but I was super hungry and they're a brand-new place staffed by the people who could make it in so I'm willing to give them another go. The crab rangoon was reminiscent of Peking Wok so that compels a return visit.

Now I'm in a food coma and I'm going to listen to an episode of Painting with Bob Ross and drift off to sleep.

Maybe in my world, there's a happy little mountain where all the snow goes and I live in the happy little cabin in the happy little woods...
