maybe "unremarkable" isn't the right word -- i found it refreshing that it was unremarked-upon. there wasn't a reason that all those people were female, they just happened to be. and that is really fucking rare. i liked that it was the exact inverse of the VERY COMMON "genders are equal in this universe but all N or maybe N-1 of the characters just happen to be male for no reason."
