Thanks for the interesting reviews. My husband loves Iain M. Banks but has told me that I don't want to read his stuff, for reasons that I don't quite remember. Your review of this one makes it sound pretty interesting, though, so I'll have to go ask him why, again, he thinks I won't like them.
