Hey,

So I've been reading this book all about the composer Georg Philipp Telemann. It appears as though Telemann, in addition to his wonderful music, was something of a card-player and gambler. In fact, his turns of fortune at the card table seem to have driven a great deal of his creative output. In particular, he once wagered pretty much everything he had on the turn of a card. It came out in his favor and he was inspired to write his Concerto in G Major. So it's a fascinating little book. It's called Going for Baroque.

Tom

p.s. It's been a morning of minor irritations. Bad puns are my solace and my right.
