I suppose we should amend the peak oil theory...

instead of "Oil will get more expensive as we approach peak oil, as it must be drawn from more and more expensive places to pump"

it will be "not only will oil get more expensive as we approach peak oil, but we will be buying it from crazier and crazier people..."
