Mass Followup

Hey,

Just for the record:

I slept with the purple alien chick because she was from the previous game so I knew she was trustworthy and because there were achievement points in it. Also, the human chicks are both genetic experiments to produce the ultimate human and have Issues. I didn't quite stick it to the Illusive Man in the end game because I was hoping for something a little more fist-in-the-face and he really is the lesser of two evils.

Also, the resource-collecting setup for this game is just tedious. I have a bazillion credits, but I can't buy the elements I need to conduct R&D, I've got to go space mining for them. I'd much rather that each planet had some sort of mini-dungeon where you go in, shoot-up some bad guys and collect a large haul...of course I would, I'm a D&D guy from way back. Maybe something in the GTA mode where I save human colonies and they provide me a steady stream of resources.

Maybe in the third game I can finally make out with Joker.

later
Tom

You're almost certainly too much woman or man or whatever for Joker. You'd break his fragile bones like twigs.

If you search for "Gibbed editor mass effect" you'll find a handy ME2 savegame editor. I've only ever used it to bump up resources because I also find the mining to be a huge pain in the ass. (But for a haha, go to our solar system and fire a probe at Uranus for EDI's snarky comment)

My two male shepards--one paragon, one renegade--got with Miranda and Talia, respectively. My female shepard stayed loyal to her true love, Liara, which payed off in the Shadow Broker add-on.

I'm not quite done running my renegade shepard, but he's already given Legion over to Cerberus for a tidy profit and will be handing the secrets of the reapers over to the Illusive Man in a little while.

On the subject of add-ons, another winning add-on is the recently released Origins mini-comic. During ME2 character creation, it lets you set some bits that are normally only set when you import an ME1 character. (This really beats replaying ME1 just to let the rachni queen live.)

I don't think I'd go for Joker, but maybe Bioware could break some more ground by having a three-way in the next game?

The resource collecting becomes a lot less tedious once you realize you can mine only "rich" planets you come across during the course of missions, which cuts down on the time requirement significantly. Also, what harrison said about the save game editor. I finished ME2 5 times, and starting from the third one the editor saved me a lot of annoyance and let me just shoot people.
