Yeah, Reich was all about repeated patterns and phase. Clapping Music starts with a single pattern performed at the same time by two people and then starts shifting one of them later by a 16th note each time. Even though it's a simple pattern, it gets complicated pretty quickly.

He has a couple of pieces-- Piano Phase, Violin Phase-- where the phase shifting is done by the performers, and he has some tape-loop pieces where he has loops of the same sound set up to loop at slightly different times. He's pretty firmly in the "experimental music" category, but if you like listening to that kind of thing, that's the kind of thing he does...
