So I asked Luke about Flank.

You DO NOT split the die pool the way you do with Flack.

"So what's the best thing to do against Flank?"
"Suppressive Fire is good."
"Grizzled Void Lord/Cotar Fomas backed up by a Psychologist with a link."
"Oh, you're kinda screwed then."
"Something a bit more helpful?"
"Yeah, invest in equipment. Specifically, get a lot of surveillance gear and do an Observation on them using the gear to give you a big bonus. That's opposed and once you spot them, you can do a direct fire which is an Independent test. You'll take some dispo loss from their Flank, but then your direct fire should translate into more dispo loss for them (since you only have to beat an Ob 1 test and then you get additional splash kills from the heavy weapons you fire."

I dunno if that's still the best answer. I'd really need to shove in a lot of points to buy all the gear, but it does seem do-able in theory anyway. And I was sittin on an awful lot of "buy stuff" points.
