Healing America by beating people up

Hi,

Today at my Not-so-Local comic book store, I picked up the first issue of Nextwave by Warren Ellis. On the surface it's Ellis doing a parody of superhero comics using cast off Marvel heroes. But it's about more than that:

"Nextwave is a super hero comic about five people who have just minutes to prevent a town from being eaten by a giant lizard monster in purple underpants."

It's really, really good. I'm very happy with this first issue.

Go check it out
Tom

You've been watching Kong again, haven't you. Just so we're clear, it's totally not okay with me if your lizard monster tries to eat my uterus. I mean, I know we haven't exactly worked it in to our relationship policies and procedures, but in the *past* I've always felt these things go without saying. Suddenly, though, I feel called upon to say it. No uterus eating! No matter what the color of your underpants.

Every day they get a little closer to making the mindnet real, and every day I'm a little bit more sure we're not getting onto it.
