If you could be a tree...

Hey,

That five-question, interview me meme is going around again.

The following come from the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] desiringsubject:

1) If you could change places with someone, who would it be?

Permanently? Let's assume you mean permanently.

Umm...hrm...Chief Justice Roberts comes to mind. But I know nothing about the law so my early opinions might be a bit too much of a giveaway. Still, total job security and a chance to defend the rights of the individual.

The current king of Saudi Arabia might be another good choice. Start spreading the oil wealth around, break up the fanatical Muslim sects I've been buying off for the past several decades. I don't speak Arabic though. Tough.

Also, both these guys are older than I am so I'm shortening my effective lifespan -- granted, I'd do it for a good cause, but y'know.

It might be really fun to switch places with a young child in a well-to-do family. Because high school a second time would be a breeze. Plus, I could study up and hammer through college with a harder science degree.

If the change isn't permanent? I'd temporarily switch places with Annie in a heartbeat.

2) What's the most attractive quality in a person, in your opinion?

Their tits.

No, actually, the most attractive quality is a good, broad-spectrum sense of humor. Because if you don't like the ha-ha, you'll probably find me really irritating.

3) What's your favorite movie?

Hmmm...tough call. Quite possibly My Neighbor Totoro, a fun bit of anime. But it might also be The Untouchables. It's hard to say. In this context, I'm trying to think of a movie I'd be willing to watch over and over -- the last movie on Earth. If I was to keep watching one movie it'd have to be my favorite, but I'm not sure that any movie would hold my attention long enough.

It might also well be a Bond movie....one of the Seann Connery ones...probably You Only Live Twice.

4) What's one thing you believe in that you're pretty sure most people don't? (Leprechauns?)

I dunno. I've got some wide-believing friends. Sometimes I'm pretty sure that I'm the only real person in existence and everyone else is an android in some sort of creepy experiment. Other people might have a similar belief, but they rarely think that I'm the real person, they usually think they're the real person. They're wrong.

Sadly, I also believe in evolution, which, on a strict "most = majority" format is rather odd here in the US.

5) What's (one of) your favorite word(s)?

Smock. Just say it over and over again until it loses all sense of meaning.

I'm also rather fond of perspicacious.

6) What was the first thing you liked about me?

Um...I'd guess it was the profile -- up-front, no-nonsense, here I am, take it or leave it, jerks need not apply. It was blunt. I liked that.

This is where I suggest that the meme might be passed on. But I'm a terrible vector so your chances of actual exposure/infection vary wildly.

[fans self] Mmm. Which heartbeat?

OK I'm clearly missing something here. Splain?

. . . I believe the situation Tom is assuming, is one where you switch bodies with the other person, but keep your own personality and memories. If I could do that with Bey (temporarily), part of the switch-time would be spent in the bedroom. So, "Which heartbeat?" was me crossing the territory from Tom's idiomatic use of "in a heartbeat" to the more intimate sense of being able to hear your loved one's heartbeat . . . in this case, from inside your own chest.

Amen, brother.
