It makes everything better...

Hey,

So, I'm really not much of a beer drinker. Generally speaking, I really hate the taste of the stuff. But every so often I forget and I have another beer and go "yick" and set it aside unconsumed.

Last night I'm at a brew pub and they have a dessert called "The Dark Master", which is essentially a root beer float, only instead of root beer, they use the darkest stout they have on tap. So fine, I order one.

And I get it and I'm like "meh...not quite so 'yick' but still..." and then my date helpfully points out that there's a bunch of chocolate topping at the bottom of the glass. So I get the chocolate and the ice cream and the beer all swirled up together.

And it's actually pretty tasty.

Yum
Tom

Interesting.

I also don't like the taste of hops, and it wouldn't occur to me to eat in a brew pub. It's good to hear they can make a beer float that tastes good. Maybe, if the occasion ever arises, I'll try one like that.

Yes but would it have been tastier still if the beer HAD been, say, root beer? Or just absent entirely?

Well, as you probably know, I'm a big fan of beer, especially local craft-brewed dark stuff, and I have turned several people on to good beer -- they discovered that it was just BAD beer that they didn't like! I'll be happy to guide you to my favorites if you like.
