My only Election Musings of the year(ish)

Hey,
OK, so I was going to ask if anyone could point me to a web site that would tell me how my current state rep voted on the whole gay marriage amendment dealie.
I'm still asking for that.
But I realize that, much like my mom, I'm a one-issue voter. I'm sure that in the race for state rep, there's probably a lot of important issues that I should be taking a look at. Alternatively, the politics are so small potatoes it doesn't even matter and one rep is as good as another. But for some reason I'm either going to support or revile the incumbent based on his or her (see? I don't even know that!) stance on a single issue I care a lot about but which, in the larger scheme of things, isn't really what's most relevant (but I'm not even sure if there really are relevant issues).
Grm.
Tom

VoteSmart has voting records at the Federal level, but not state...

And here's a senate resolution congratulating the Red Sox...

After much hullaballoo, the "official" way is to find the bill here, then look at the history and find out when the bill was voted on, and =then= go to the correct Journal (House or Senate) and see who voted which way. If you have the bill number, you're a big step ahead. Details available at the FAQ page.
Occasionally, you can find specific issues reported on in newspapers or on a particular group's web site.
Yay, easy-to-use democracy, eh?

Date: 2004-10-28 07:20 pm (UTC)At a state level I mean. There are certainly relevant issues at a national level.
I got the voter's guide dealie, but there aren't even any ballot issues as far as I can tell.
I'm sure that there are a number state matters that, if brought together, would form an interesting field on which to compare candidates, but honestly,
I'm just not interested in the research so unless something really pushes to the forefront of local news (like the gay marriage bickering) I don't even notice it.
