Maybe I'm the last person to notice this...

Hey,

Go to Google Maps and look up "Prudential Towers Boston MA".

It brings up a map of downtown Boston.

Zoom in.

Keep zooming in.

That's it, keep going.

Notice something odd? There are wireframes of all the buildings in downtown Boston so at the highest zoom levels it's like you're sitting over a virtual model of the city.

Same is true for San Francisco and Portland OR, probably a number of other large metro areas.

Looks like they're slowly growing that out like they did with street view.
