Dear Master of Assassins (pt. 3)

Sir,

Got the guy on the boat. Went surprisingly well. For the first time I was able to kill an assigned target by, y'know, assassinating him. I walked up behind him and just ran him through. Usually I can never get that close without the target's phalanx of guards spotting me and forcing this huge fight. But this went down smooth as silk.

Even the escape was relatively uneventful and in the process I got to provide a definitive answer to one of the vexing problems of our time: "What shall we do with a drunken sailor"?

I believe my novel solution of "shank 'em in the ribs like pigs to slaughter" will soon become the de facto course of action.

I have, however, discovered another slight flaw in our methodology which I would like to bring to your attention. As you mentioned at our last meeting, the various targets are starting to get edgy around guys in white robes with swords and knives strapped to them. It occurs to me that if I could adopt some other disguise I might be able to move more freely and attack my targets more easily. In particular, if I adopted the guise of the local town guard, I might well be able to walk right up to the next target. I realize that the religious garb I'm wearing gives me a lot of leeway and is vital for actually sneaking into town but I think people are starting to catch on to the fact that the assassins appear to have a "uniform" and I believe it's vital that we shift tactics on them.

In that light, I might again suggest that attacking our targets in the dead of night while they're asleep could also prove extremely fruitful.

As always, your faithful servant,
Altair
