Plato would have a lot to say about this...
Hey,
I'm walking down a hallway in our building and there's sunlight coming in from the window behind me. So of course, my shadow is being projected down at the far end. But as I walk down the hall, I suddenly realize that my shadow doesn't appear to be moving in time with my actions. In fact, it's very definitely moving "wrong".
There's a brief moment of anxious confusion until I look behind me and see there's another guy walking the other way down the corridor and his shadow is being super-imposed over mine. It's his shadow I was seeing.
But once he left the hallway and my shadow returned I still did a little test wave to make sure things were all right.
