Skullcandy poll

Hey,

So I now have one (1) empty bottle of crystal skull vodka...and a drinking problem. :)

No, I've got this empty bottle. I have confirmed that regular gaming dice will easily fit through the opening.

Here's what it looks like:

(and here's a link if it doesn't show up above)

My plan is to make a gaming momento mori. I will fill the skull with dice to serve as a visible reminder of the inevitability of death and the endless random chance that dictate matters of life and death. It will also soak up bad ju-ju to be unleashed whenever I GM.

So, now some questions:

1.) What style of dice should I fill the skull with?

a.) Regular gaming dice like you've already got a million of.
b.) Gamescience dice because they're more truly random.
c.) Dice made of obsidian or some other gemstone -- sure they're small and more expensive, but it'd be a gem-filled skull and that's AWESOME!
d.) Other (explain in comments)

2.) What color of dice should I use?

a.) White dice (the color of bone!)
b.) Black dice (the color of death!)
c.) Blue dice (it's your favorite color!)
d.) Grab bag of colors
e.) Other or I have an opinion about what color the numbers should be (explain in comments)

3.) What type of dice should I use?

a.) Standard sets (i.e. d4, d6, d8, d10, d%, d12, d20)
b.) All of one type (explain in comments)
c.) One or more "oddball" dice (d3, d14, d100, FUDGE dice etc. Explain in comments)
d.) Other (explain in comments)

Thanks in advance for your participation!
Tom

So, in general I like this idea. I assume the bottle is colorless glass? If so, I like the idea of not just whole dice, but of broken dice The idea being more of a dice graveyard. Then it would be a mixture of all colors, types and materials.

Glow in the dark dice.

What about only putting in dice that have failed you? A d20 that rolled a natural 1 at a critical juncture, a handful of d6s that rolled several standard deviations below average, that kind of thing?

This could go with the broken dice suggestion above. Though I have the same visceral reaction against the notion.

On the other hand, you'd need to store this Skull of Horrible Dice far, far from any other dice, to keep your others from getting corrupted.

...

Otherwise, I'd personally fill it with sharp-edged (Gamescience-style) transparent/translucent dice, a grab bag of colors and traditional types.

Dude. Crystal Head Vodka. Dice made of diamonds.

Seriously, go with clear or slightly tinted translucent dice like these:

You should probably go with multicolored varying polyhedral, 'cause then you can just go with the cheap option of buying your dice by the pound from Chessex: like this.

Personally, I keep mine full of gin. But that's just me, I guess.
