Funny Books I review

Hey,

So I cleaned out my subscription box at TE today. New Young Avengers which made me happy. A new New Mutants issue that...pretty much had nothing to do with the New Mutants at all...I'm this close to ditching the title and that makes me sad. Joe the Barbarian continues to be great. DV8 about superheroes ditched on a primitive world who become revered as gods is building slowly but it's interesting. I, Zombie is about a zombie who has to eat brains to stay normal but is then tormented by the memories of those brains to resolve outstanding issued left behind when they died is a great conceit and is going well.

But I wanted to point out Jam! Tales from the World of Roller Derby by Oni Press. It's an anthology collection. All (or almost all) of the stories were written by roller derby girls and they run the gamut from gonzo science fiction to quiet autobiographical pieces. The stories are fun, the artwork is varied, but good. It's a fun book. I've got a number of roller derby friends and fans and they should give this a whirl.
