New Tattoo Review

Hi,

So a few weeks ago I got a tattoo on my leg. Lots of you have seen it, some of you still haven't. The lovely and talented coraline was kind enough to take a few photos of the work-in-progress and I'm happy to present them to you.



The overall design is a Mesoamerican-inspired earth serpent wound about my left leg, eating it's own tail (all shades of Oroubus). This is just the outline. In a few months, it's going to get colored in with a predominantly green diamond pattern.


The in-step portion isn't too exciting:




But then you turn towards the front and things get interesting:




Here's the side (outer leg) view, which is what most people will easily see:



When it's colored in, the pupil and possibly the teeth of the snake will be left uncolored and the fan of scales at the back of the serpent's head will be be colored ROYGBIV (there's seven scales you see...). I suspect the "tail scales" should also be a slightly different color but I haven't settled. The outer ring of the eye will be red to tie it back to the other tattoo on my right leg.
