Prop 8

Hey,

So, I'm curious. Given that California seems to have a sort of "hey, just make up a ballot question and we'll put it up for a vote", could pro-marriage people come up with a proposition for the next election that says "actually, prop 8 was stupid and we're reversing it"? And if they can do that, how long does that football go back and forth?

later
Tom

Eh, we need an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution anyway.

Or, you know, ENFORCEMENT OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT. If marriage is so tied to religion, it shouldn't be legislated at all, anywhere.

Argue on the First Amendment and they'll cede religion without losing the battle. We need the Fourteenth Amendment to apply to sex or sexual orientation or there's nothing unconstitutional about it.

But that's fine. Because then all someone has to do is start First Parish of The Gay Jesus, and then perform homosexual unions, and there's not a shit thing anyone can do about it.
